I. PROCESS
A: ELIGIBILITY.
The eligibility period is set from January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022, and is decided by Musivv. Categories vary in eligibility criteria.
1. Song-Based. Categories that are judged based on songs are open to artists who have released their songs within the eligibility period.
Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year, MIXER Artist of the Year, ROOTS Artist of the Year, NEXT Artist of the Year, HOMEGROWN Artist of the Year, CULTURE Artist of the Year, Musivv Artist of the Year.
2. Achievement-Based. Categories that are judged based on excellence are open to music creatives, artists, and individuals who are actively engaged in multi-disciplinary activities within the eligibility period. 'Icon of the Year' is open to individuals who have established a company that supports independent artists that has been operating in the last 5 years.
Artist of the Year, Icon of the Year, DJ of the Year, Fashion Advocate of the Year, Health Advocate of the Year, Sports Advocate of the Year, Film Advocate of the Year.
3. Creative-Based. Categories that are judged based on creative merit are open to photographers, videographers and designers who have portfolios within the eligibility period.
Concert Photographer of the Year, Music Photographer of the Year, Cover Artwork of the Year, Music Video of the Year
4. Public-Based. Categories that are influenced by the public are open to active artists within the eligibility period.
DJ of the Year, Fans Choice of the Year, Musivv CHARTS Track of the Year
B. SUBMISSION
All submissions shall be done through the official submission form set up on musivv.com/tma and must be duly filled up by candidates and submitted before January 31, 2023.
Categories vary in submission requirements.
Song-Based.
Achievement-Based.
NOMINATION. Once the final list of artists' submissions is gathered, the team from Musivv and BarCoe shall commence the initial evaluation, selection and nomination process.
A maximum of four (6) artists per category will be adhered to. Artists that will not be nominated shall be notified via email.
Criteria for the nomination of Major Awards:
Song of the Year
Song Structure and Composition
The song has a clear theme or cohesive idea
The song has identifiable sections
The song is between 2 to 5 minutes
Lyrical Aptitude
The lyrics evoke an emotional response from the listener
The lyrics are singable and memorable
The lyrics have an identifiable rhyme scheme or pattern
Music and Melody
The music and melody add to the emotional impact of the song
The music keeps the listener interested and engaged
The music and lyrics fit together in a cohesive way
Originality
The song expresses the theme in a new or fresh way
The song is memorable
The song has commercial potential
Criteria for the nomination of categories under BACKSTAGE:
Icon of the Year.
Producer of the Year. Production Techniques: Loudness, Definition, Space, Panning etc. Sound Design.
Concert Photographer of the Year. Style, Impact, Story, Technical Quality, Creativity, Composition, Use of Color, Points of Interest, Presentation
Music Photographer of the Year. Style, Impact, Story, Technical Quality, Creativity, Composition, Use of Color, Points of Interest, Presentation
VOTING. The voting jury consists of the music industry and creative experts in their fields.
Voting members shall receive the ballots via a secure URL and must submit their casted votes on or before February 7, 2023. Ballots shall contain links to individual artists' nominated songs. Once all the ballots are received they are then submitted to the commissioned third-party auditor for tallying and validation and shall remain confidential until the LIVE winner announcement event on the last week of February 2023
