The life experiences that inspired the song were key to the outcome.

Anyone that knows her will attest to how much singer-songwriter-performer Lisa Goldin wears music as an entirety.

"It is my entire being." She has been privileged to have traveled to perform in over ten countries, three of which she considers home; the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and her home country South Africa. Her first love is songwriting than performing, however, most of her bread and butter is from live work as a singer-pianist and performing artist. "So I do tend to focus on that especially when the season is pumping!" At the moment all hands are on deck for the release and promotion of her new song recently finished filming the music video. Team Goldin is excited to edit and hit publish soon! Read on to learn more about it.

The Process

Life experiences inspire Lisa. 'Something I Used To Wear' took a long time to write because of the depth of the story. It took three years for the right words and music to evolve. In 2020, she rewrote the lyrics to make it "juicier" before going into the studio. The first engineer was Powela Tiemo who helped create the vocal production. There are over 50 vocal parts of the lead and harmonies! The creation of instrumentation, mixing and production was with the main go-to-producer Stoyan Stoyanov. Last year   the work started for 'Something I Used To Wear' after finishing another song off the album entitled 'Tell Me.' "We did take our time on this one, as there are so many layers of strings and brass creating hooks to make the song pop!" In December production wrapped up and voila it’s coming out for GoldinFans to hear! "Sorry about the wait, but sure do hope you love it!"

Lisa Goldin summarizes her journey so far with lines from 'Piece Of Sky' by Barbra Streisand

"What's wrong with wanting more? If you can fly, then soar! With all there is, why settle for just a piece of sky?" - Barbara Streisand
