Dubai artist VARSHAVINN launches her new single ‘girls like u’ on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2023. The track was specifically written to celebrate independent women’s voices and their influence in the world. And according to VARSHAVINN, that celebration is needed more than ever.

‘Over the years, we’ve seen strong women being torn down for being able to outshine men, so I decided to take that concept and turn it into something positive, as a reaffirmation to women to continue shining through and to never back down.’

‘girls like u’ was written alongside hit Canadian singer/songwriter Elena Goddard, and cleverly uses the lyrics ‘Nobody knows quite what to do with girls like you’ throughout the track. The powerful and empowering lyrics give the track real emotion and focus. And backed by swirling synths, cascading piano lines and crashing drums, ‘girls like u’ is the ideal soundtrack for International Women’s Day.

'girls like u’ continues VARSHAVINN’s strong focus on exploring themes of feminine power, love, strength and mental health issues. Since launching in 2019, she’s consistently released music including nearly a dozen singles and a mini-album ‘Fortress’ that displayed her poetic and introspective songwriting and raw, soulful vocals.
