Matilde G explains: “This song is about a guy who cheated on me. This is sadly a current topic for those who live teen-relationships. Am I the victim of a hypocritical guy? The cheater is a victim of himself and his lies. Better to kick back and go further with strength and awareness of your own value, which is never determined by the others" says Matilde G "I wrote Hypocrite to send a strong message to those who have been cheated on: do not be ashamed because the true loser is the cheater! I went through painful experiences that marked me but also made me stronger and more determined not to allow anyone to manipulate me and hurt me.”

This song is about a guy who cheated on me.

From the first listen, you can immediately understand that ‘Hypocrite' represents a further evolution and growth in the style of the young artist, who deals with more intimate personal stories coupled with more mature pop sounds and nods to rock and roll.

Produced by Karl-Oskar Gummesson from The Kennel AB, Hypocrite was co-written by Matilde G together with Josefin Glenmark (ITZY, Monsta X, Super Junior) and Isak Alvedahl.

The captivating and dynamic music video visually represents hypocrisy with a mannequin but also with masked dancers, who do not show their real faces. The young artist reveals her sensuality with dance but also takes us into her inner world with exciting piano scenes.

Produced by Black Bird Production, it was filmed in Singapore in various locations including the Hard Rock Hotel Sentosa who have embraced the project by making their Rock Star Suite available. Pianoland was the official piano partner for the MV, providing Matilde G with a Dexibell VIVO H10 MG digital piano and their studio to shoot. For the costumes the artist relied on talented students of the Raffles School of Design, while she wanted to personally take care of her make-up and hair-style.
