Introducing the Producer/Engineer Lab, an eight-week course designed for music producers, musicians, DJs, and indie artists who want to learn how to produce, record, mix and master their music.
The course aims to teach students how to create radio-ready productions and take their music to the Top 40 level by discovering the synergy between music production, mixing, and mastering.
Miklos Malek, an internationally renowned music producer, mixing and mastering engineer, and songwriter, has designed a new workshop in collaboration with SAE Institute.
The course, “Producer/Engineer Lab” starts on March 14, 2023, and is designed to be a hands-on practical course with mentoring directly from Miklos.
Miklos Malek has 30 years of experience working with top artists such as Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Armin van Buuren, and more, and will provide students with professional insights and guidance on how to improve their music work to reach their full potential.
“There’s a huge amount of misinformation and much less useful information online," he tells Musivv, "The problem is that it’s really hard to tell them apart. You could spend all your time looking at tutorial videos and still not get any answers to your musical and mixing questions. Nobody’s gonna tell you why your song doesn’t sound like Top 40 yet. But I can. Just bring your laptop with your session to my workshop and get answers right away that will get you close to your goal immediately,” he tells Musivv.

Accepted applicants will need to submit 2-4 fully produced songs and have access to a laptop, digital audio workstation, headphones, microphone, sound card, and the ability to create basic arrangements and sound recordings.
Throughout the course, students will learn how to build a radio-ready production, the basics of music theory, the modern mixing and mastering process, and techniques and tricks used in the making of Top 40 hits.
Unlike other online courses, students will have the opportunity to learn directly from an industry professional with over 30 years of experience working with artists in New York, Los Angeles, and Europe. Additionally, students will receive personalized feedback on their work and have the chance to network with like-minded individuals in the music industry.
Upon completion of the course, students can expect to find their artistic identity, realize their strengths and areas of improvement, and have a step-by-step method of building arrangements and mixes. They will also gain a holistic view of the professional music production and engineering process and be able to use the techniques and tricks taught in the course to make their work stand out in the industry.
“I wish I had a time machine to be able to go back and tell my twenty year-old self what I know today. Answer all of the musical and technical questions and give guidance for the future. Well, going back in time is not possible yet but I can share the secrets with others and this is what the new course is about,” Miklos concludes.
