Qihbad bids Dubai farewell with a sultry track 'Cupid'
Singer-songwriter couple Qihbad and Rashida decided it was time to bid farewell

After their two-year stay in Dubai, singer-songwriter couple Qihbad and Rashida decided it was time to bid farewell to a city they consider adventurous and fly forward to find newer avenues for inspiration in Europe. In the six months that have passed in Belgium—the grey weather, café culture and vinyl-infused shops—led the two to integrate classic '80s tender music as a sole source for forming their newest record.

"Our lyricism in this project speaks of how an invasion of privacy can be problematic for two beings that are used to each other’s energies exclusively."

The idea was for both pop singers to vulnerably elaborate on their moments—chains of intimacy and the passion for music and each other—need protection from any and all sources of perversion and disturbance.

"It is for us to have the choice to no longer suppress who we are, or to have to explain our ways to anyone," says Qihbad.

Many more future projects like 'Cupid' are planned to expand more on this theme.

Cupid is now out on all streaming platforms.
