If looks can be deceiving, Beat Reapers are on top of the list.

Time. It took a dynamic rap duo a life lesson about time to be able to learn how to juggle work and passion and daily life as adults, and independent artists at the same time. At the end of the day, the keyword was, is, and will remain 'consistency' according to the stylistic artists. Moro & Ceinaru, better known together as Beat Reapers, are a rap duo under independent music label Beat Reapers Entertainment, surging the Dubai music scene waiting to reach a threshold.

The beat partners started the idea of the label along with the group in mid-2020, at the peak of the lockdown. Both Moro and Ceinaru have been in and out of the Romanian rap scene since 2009. While the former had a long hiatus till last year, Ceinaru has been consistently active both as an MC and mainly as a producer for various artists.

Also part of the label are two exceptionally talented artists from Romania, Zasha and Crip.

We caught up with half of the group Moro to talk about life in general.

How has life been?

We cannot really complain, we've been busy on both music and our jobs, we're just grateful to be able to do both while cruising this madness!

We're just grateful to be able to do both [work and music] while cruising this madness

The very first music you wrote, what was it about?

It has been way too long ago, but most probably was some poorly written rap verses over an old-school boom-bap beat made in Hip-hop eJay. Yes, we are that old! (laughs)

What's your songwriting process?

It always starts with the beat. It calls you. Then I like to choose a title for the song, then carry on with the verses, based on what the beat and the title inspires me.

Tell us about your other passion, tennis.

I grew up playing tennis since I was 6. After a bad injury I have decided to stay in the field and make a living out of something that I love, so I like to think I am blessed and lucky for that.

What do you think is the difference between the music scene here versus the other parts of the world?

In all honesty, I believe the music scene here is young, there are so many options and opportunities around every corner, you just have to be smart enough to catch them! In other parts of the world, everything can seem overwhelming at times. Here, the sky can be the limit!

Tell us about your last single.

Not sure when this interview will go out, at the moment our first and latest single, titled 'Fly By' was recorded in Romania and filmed partly here in the UAE and partly in Bucharest. We felt it was a good song to (re)introduce ourselves to our audience all over!

What's the biggest dream?

Such a small question, so many possible answers. I'd say the biggest dream would be to know that I've changed lives for the better one way or another!

Who do you want to collaborate with both locally and internationally?

Locally there are a lot of amazing artists that I would like to or already collaborated with (surprise)! Artists like MK1, Prince V.A., Mjeezy, Nishan, Fil$, The Recipe. Internationally... where do I start? Probably Hopsin or Ocean Wisdom would be the pinnacle.

What's your typical day like?

Usually, I work in the mornings and late afternoons. Midday is for workouts, writing, and relaxing. Weekends are reset buttons.

Tupac or Kanye?

Both of them are amazing, but Bizzy Bone and Treach.

While their persona scream more hard rock and metal than hip-hop, they deserve a second look—and listen.
